Eric Fredrickson

Eric Fredrickson is originally from the Pacific Northwest, being born and raised in the Tacoma/Federal Way area of Washington. He attended the University of Notre Dame, from which he received a bachelor's degree in history. Eric left South Bend, Indiana in 1985 with a commission as a first lieutenant in the United States Army, having completed his ROTC training. After Armor training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Eric joined the 2-81st Armor Battalion Red Lions, stationed in Erlangen (West) Germany and served as a tank platoon leader and logistical support officer.

In 1987, Eric returned to the U.S. to start a family and to begin working on his Master's Degree. He chose Public History as an area of concentration because of his love for people and the focus of Public History on the contributions of everyday people to the fabric of history. His Master's thesis was published as a hardcover book: The Houston Bar Association - A Commitment to Public Service (Gulf Publishing, 1992; also available at www.BarnesandNoble.com) Later, Eric was commissioned by Andrews & Kurth PLLC, the 4 th largest Houston law firm, to research and write its centennial history, published in 2002 under the title, Andrews & Kurth: The First 100 Years of Excellence.

After receiving his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, Eric began his private practice in 1996, and quickly discovered a calling to family law. He is moved by his sense of ethical integrity and his deep religious convictions to compassionately represent clients facing divorce and separation and to help families in legal need and crisis. Eric brings intelligence, common sense, creativity and extensive legal skill to each case and client that he takes on. He has represented hundreds of clients from all walks of life, backgrounds and social position. He is comfortable in the courtroom and he is well known and respected by the judges in both Harris County and Montgomery County, Texas.

Eric has handled many high-conflict and complex asset cases. He has the discretion to deal successfully with difficult and emotionally charged people and situations. He has the financial and business acumen needed to get you the result you need.

Sadly, Eric's own marriage of many years ended in 2010. Through dealing with the pain of that experience, Eric has gained a personal understanding of the particular issue of fathers' rights and the problems facing fathers in working out a fair plan for child support, custody and visitation. His personal journey has augmented his professional experience and a keen empathy for his clients.

Eric Fredrickson has litigated and negotiated hundreds of family law cases involving divorce, custody, modification, establishment of paternity, grandparents' rights, gay & lesbian rights, adoption, step-parent adoption, CPS cases and child support collection and child support defense. You can feel secure, in speaking with him, that he understands your needs, the complexities of your case, and the law. Call him today to discuss your case.
